Industrial Controls

Please browse through the catorgories below to learn more about what Flores Automation can do for you.

> Project Management

We provide consulting and project management for any type of industrial project, large or small. If you're not sure how to approach a pesky manufacturing problem or how to bring a product to market; we're the firm for you. Our promise to you is to take your project from conception to completion with unmatched honesty, efficiency, and effectiveness. Our projects have ranged from small product patent verification to complete manufacturing line integration. Give us a call to ensure your project runs smoothly and to ensure success!

> Design

We design safe, reliable, and quality electrical controls systems for custom industrial machinery. Our systems are installed throughout the world and have a strong reputation in the industry. We offer systems that adhere to the world's design standards including, but not limited to: ANSII, NEC, UL, CSA, CE, etc. We also provide a one-stop solution for full custom machine design. We have established a strong network of mechanical design firms who will work with us to provide you a single quote for your needs. These additions include: mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic design / build / installation / service.

> Control Panel Build

Our industrial control panel build service is simply the best in the business. Our technicians take unmatched pride in their work and produce panels that make sense. Attention to detail and effort is what separates us from other panel shops. Our capabilities range from one-off, custom panels to unlimited production pieces. Please see some examples of our work below:

> Programming

Our programmers specialize in many different control system platforms. We have completed many projects over the years and have templates in place that allow us to use our time more efficiently and ultimately lower the cost to our customers. Typical projects for us include PLC programming, HMI programming, and a motion control platform. Although we will tackle and learn any system, some of the environments we have used in the past include:

PLC: Allen-Bradley, Automation Direct, Bosch-Rexroth, Giddings & Lewis, Panasonic, etc.

HMI: Allen-Bradley, Automation Direct, Bosch-Rexroth, CTC, Red Lion, Sauer-Danfoss, etc.

Motion / Drive Control: Allen-Bradley, Bosch-Rexroth, Danaher Kollmorgen, SureServo, Sauer-Danfoss, etc.

Robotics: ABB, GE Fanuc, etc.

> Install/Debug

One of the most common complaints about machine programmers is that they do not like to step away from their desks and get their hands dirty. The is definitely not the case when you hire a Flores Automation programmer. Our staff has a combined record of machine startup experience that exceeds three decades in many different environments and applications. After we complete a program offsite we will install our machinery in the desired facility anywhere in the world and debug the wiring/programming until the machine meets, and in most cases exceeds, your satisfaction. This service naturally goes with any project that includes programming, so here are a few additional machines we have installed and/or debugged.

> Machine Modifications

Machine modification is one of our most widely used services. We can take your old equipment and totally upgrade it with the newest technology. We also have a mechanical firm we use with this service to upgrade mechanical components. Three of our most common modifications are: integrating a PLC into a relay-controlled machine, adding a HMI to a switch-based machine that requires more feedback for the operator, and adding a robot to an existing manufacturing process. Other modifications range from simply adding a new switch to a full mechanical to servo solution. The benefits of our servo conversions are further described below.

> Servo Conversions

Are you tired of working on a machine that has cost you countless hours troubleshooting messy hydraulic systems? Or changing out cams and gears that never seem to last like they should? The answer for you may be to take advantage of our servo conversion service. We specialize in converting existing machines that either have design flaws or are just at the end of their life cycle and give them new life through an advanced motion controls platform. We are familiar with linear and rotary applications and will work with you to determine your exact requirements. Please call today to discuss your application.

  • Updated technology
  • Value-added to used equipment
  • More energy efficient system
  • Get rid of the hydraulic or air power
  • Get rid of expensive cams and gears
  • Use clean, environmentally friendly electrical power
  • Easier and cleaner maintenance
  • Greater functionality and versatility through programming
  • Extended life of the existing machine
  • > Safety Evaluations

Industrial machinery can be dangerous and that is why we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of workers and capital equipment through the use of the latest safety technology available. We are experts at implementing nearly every safety product offered on the market in a variety of applications. Our safety service starts with a two hour evaluation of the respective machinery/application followed by a quote at no charge to you, design, installation, check out, training, and full documentation. We have used the following products in the past: light curtains, safety mats, laser sensors, camera systems, other multi-beam sensors, physical guarding, contact strips and bumpers, and two hand control systems to name a few. Also, if you require any other product to meet your needs that we did not mention, give us a call and we will work with you to make it happen.

    > Robot Integration

As mentioned previously, we have accomplished many projects using different motion control platforms and this has allowed us to seamlessly take on robotic, gantry-type pick & place systems, and even some CNC-type equipment as well. Most of our past projects involved moving production pieces either onto a conveyor or pallet at the end of the manufacturing process by way of a custom X-Y-Z setup that was designed around each respective product. So, if you're looking for a way to increase production and maximize your worker's potential, please call to see what we can do for you.

    > Documentation/Training

All of our projects are quoted with electrical schematics and a bill of material included, and operator manuals are available upon request. Technical writing is of the utmost importance when dealing with a new machine and sometimes only the designer/programmer can pinpoint all of the features and idiosyncrasies associated with custom machinery. Also, equipment training is offered to all of our customers either at the Flores Automation facility in Muskego, WI or any location requested.
